The enthusiasm in children goes as fast as it comes. In a minute, the children are as excited about any project and the other moment they are completely bored. Even in the case of studies, they tend to be quite bored with it. The excitement is very important but it is very short lived especially in the children.
Initially when the school starts, they are all excited to go back to school after summer holidays but within no time, they seem to be bored of the same activity. The main concern of the parents and the teachers is how to keep up the enthusiasm. After school program also face this problem.
From the beginning, make the child understand that the studies are very important and only if they learn they can come up in life like their fathers or mothers. Apart from their teachers, you can take active part in their studies, which make them happy. Make the studies fun activities.
The child should be given some incentive if they do well in their studies or after school activities. Once the child knows he will be appreciated he will put in more effort.
Let the child know that his hard work will get him to the place where his father or mother is today. Give them the details how you came up in life the hard way. This will set an example to the child.
Even if your child is not very good at studies or after school, programs try to encourage him by praising him. Do not criticize or put you child down in front of others. The children have a very sensitive mind and delicate ego so always be supportive of him even if he is not doing so well. Your encouragement will help him do better.

One of the benefits in making their own Christmas decorations is the emotion of fulfillment that they will feel with the finished product. No matter whether the child is a six year old or a sixteen-year, they have the sense of achievement of doing something even if it is a small thing like an angel or a picture of Santa Claus. Once you are ready with the decorations by drying them, it is time to display them, ask your child where he/she wants to hang and help them ensure that the hard work put into the decorations does not go to waste. When the time is right, you and your child could spend the rest of the day or evening decorating your home for Christmas.
